Spirit on the Avenue is a wonderfully modern alignment of luxury, efficiency and environmentally sustainable living. Not only does the iconic structure meet a strict brief that demanded an energy efficient and environmentally sustainable building, but the innovations employed by Sunbuild have dictated the very shape of this impressive complex.
The high-rise structure is a multi-faceted development combining two levels of retail and commercial space with a residential tower of 144 high quality apartments and recreational areas.
But it’s the innovative translation of the brief that sets this building apart. Sunbuild’s commitment to sustainability included the installation of a mechanical plant, monitoring of chilled water flows, sun shading and protection of the walls. The company also implemented internal recycling waste systems for occupants and the re-use of stormwater for irrigation.
Post tension slabs, precast and steel forms were also designed and built by Sunbuild, giving Spirit on the Avenue its architectural curves and unique shape. The company is particularly proud of the precast which was fabricated by Sunbuild’s own labour force in Winnellie. The quality is unsurpassed.
