DESCRIPTION:
This two-storey building used a steel frame structure lined with metal cladding and polished tiles for the walls with timber trusses and metal clad roofing. It has 1000m2 of office and retail space, which overlooks the marina. |
| Extended Completion Date: |
3 September 1995 |
This project included extending the boardwalk, requiring piling and marine work. It also featured sculptured structural steel awnings and verandah making it fitting for the Cullen Bay Marina environment.
This building was constructed on reclaimed sand, which called for a raft type structure. To achieve this, an 800mm deep cardboard waffle pad system was used effectively giving the building a 1m deep slab to sit on.
The increase in the contract value was caused by the client requiring us to carry out the fitout work as well.
