DESCRIPTION:
The client had left over money in his budget, so our scope of work was increased. This project finalised the complete refurbishment of the school. It continued the 2-storey upper primary school block and administration block. As like the previous stages, it meant staging the project to allow school to continue. The buildings were completed gutted back to the structure and started again with new. It also contained a 300m2 ground slab extension for the administration area. |

| The project within itself was relatively simple, however with some money to spare in the budget, it allowed the client to include a number of extra items. This meant time to prepare documents was needed, which in most cases we did have. Sunbuild then actively went about suggesting design solutions, re-arranging the programme to suit and sometimes leaving areas unfinished to allow the client time to finalise the design. This area took more involvement from Sunbuild than the original contract. |
| Sunbuild at tender stage saw major safety and construction issues to be overcome with the clients proposed method of construction. We offered to set up some temporary administration accommodation along with some re-arrangement of some class’s positions. This enabled the school to operate in one end of the building while construction happened at the other. This met our concerns and goals with safety and construction as the proposed method by the client meant we had to refurbish to top floor while there were classes below us. The school was very impressed with our solution. |
