REMARKS:
The facility was developed to train personnel to operate in a night environment. The jungle scene included creeks, waterfall, rock walls and commando bridges. The urban scene included a 3 storey house, a 1 storey house, drainage pipe tunnels, climbing ropes, fencing, scaffolding and even down to graffiti on the walls. Both scenes included a double ceiling. The top one contained 10000 optic fibre ends poking through the sheeting representing stars which a lower one that could be crawled on or to hang things onto. The communication room was also set up as a bamboo hut.
INNOVATION:
Sunbuild changed the construction of the raised floor from full type to suspended, which removed the risk of the waterproof membrane failing around the walls. Also the design of the crawl ceiling was changed to simply the erection and removal to suit any change required in the scenes.
