REMARKS:
This project was in a high profile location and constructed extremely close to the boundary. Furthermore, the site originally had been a thoroughfare. Keeping the public safe and preventing them from entering the site was a challenge that we achieved effectively via fencing, scaffolding and education.
INNOVATION:
The project was constructed during the middle of the wet season and this changed our programme substantially being that we intended to carry out the kerbing and road base early in the project, just after the ground slabs. Because of the late storms and early rain we were able to continue work on the structure. However the sub-grade was too wet. For this reason we reached a point of no return. The scaffold had to go up which closed off our opportunity to carry out the civil works.
